PDF to JSON ES On-device

Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 5, 2026

In short: your documents never leave your device. We collect anonymous usage statistics to improve the app, never the content of your files. There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking.

Who we are

PDF to JSON (“the app”) is developed by Steve Urrego, Colombia (“we”). Contact: support@pdftojson.co.

Your documents

PDF files you open in the app, including through Shortcuts, are converted entirely on your device. Their content, text, file names, passwords and the JSON produced are never sent to us or to anyone else. A PDF password is used only to open that file on your device and is not stored. Files you export go only where you choose to send them.

Anonymous usage statistics

The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how it is used. It records events such as “PDF imported”, “conversion completed”, “export completed” or “subscription purchased”, with counts and categories only, for example the number of pages, tables or warnings, the conversion time and the file size. Along with them Google collects technical data:

This data is not linked to your identity, is not used for advertising and is not shared with data brokers. Collection of the advertising identifier (IDFA) and ad personalization signals are turned off, and the app never asks to track you. Google processes this data on our behalf under the Firebase data processing terms and retains it for no more than 14 months. Learn more in Google's privacy policy.

Purchases

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through your Apple Account. We never receive your name, email or payment details. The app checks on your device, using Apple's StoreKit, whether a subscription is active.

Data stored on your device

The app keeps a small record of how many documents you exported this month (in the device Keychain) and your light/dark appearance preference. They never leave your device and are deleted when you delete the app, except the Keychain record, which iOS may keep until the device is reset.

What we don't do

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe, the CCPA in California or Law 1581 of 2012 in Colombia), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to its processing. Because the statistics are anonymous and not linked to you, we usually cannot single out your data, but you can write to support@pdftojson.co and we will answer within 30 days. You can also stop all collection by deleting the app.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. Significant changes will also be announced in the app's release notes.
